Make Life Beautiful - Rise & Grind

Rise & Grind

Today is National Make Life Beautiful Day, and our goal is to encourage you to celebrate people and positivity. Here's what we're focusing on this week!

1. Finding Beauty in the Simple Things

Beauty is all around us. It's up to us to find it, especially in dark times. Something as simple as the food we eat and preparing our meals can make us appreciate beauty around us.

We have spent more time at home than ever before. The woes and conflict in the world can cause some serious stress eating. Our fridge and cupboards may be full, but to make one more meal off of the same recipes you've been using forever might send you over the edge.

Myfridgefood.com (also an app) is a resource we are finding a lot of simple beauty in. Finally, someone solved the "What should we do for dinner?" question with this slick little tool.

Enter the food you currently have in your pantry or fridge. Click on "Find Recipes". The site will then populate a list of great recipes using the groceries you already have! Try it HERE

2. Some Good News

If you are looking to incorporate some more positive news into your feed, John Krasinski of The Office fame, has a very popular youtube channel called SomeGoodNews that is definitely worth watching. Watch the latest episode HERE

We're also looking at the good in the world.

This is a post from a few years back, but the good deeds live on.

Its 26 very short paragraphs from people all over the world recounting a little thing they were involved in that was beautiful.

Some are funny, others will make you tear up, but all are happy and show that we all have the capacity for beauty.  Read it HERE

3. Being A Beautiful Person

It could be said that Oprah knows a thing or two about being a beautiful person.

She has helped to cultivate this within herself by surrounding herself with strong, powerful and amazing people from all around the world.

One of those people is Dr. Vivian Diller.  Dr. Diller knows the world of physical beauty, having worked as a model in the 70's, but also with internal beauty as a psychologist for more than 20 years.

She has interviewed 100's of women and put together this list of 8 psychological tips that help cultivate beauty from the inside out.  Read it HERE
